Moderation

Rypl moderates comments on Facebook and Instagram ads and posts and on TikTok ads. Spam and hate are hidden automatically on every plan; on top of that you choose banned words, a tone filter and, on Pro and Ultra, rules written in plain words. Spam is flagged in about 1.7 seconds on average and hidden within seconds (RYPL’s own measurement).

Hide or delete? A hidden comment stays visible to the person who wrote it and their friends, so they aren’t told and don’t escalate. A deleted comment is gone for everyone and can’t be restored. TikTok doesn’t allow deleting other people’s comments, so on TikTok, Delete becomes Hide.

What’s on every plan

Spam and hate

Hidden automatically, with no set-up.

Strict Spam & Media Filter

A channel switch that also hides comments with links, attachments or competitor mentions, including photo-only comments. Useful on ads that attract link spam.

Banned words

Words and phrases you never want shown: competitor names, a rival’s domain, slurs. Comments containing them are hidden or deleted. Add them in Global rules (for every channel) or in a channel’s Moderation tab (for that channel only). Up to 50 per channel.

How a banned word matches:

You type It matches
scam Words that start with “scam”: scam, scammer, scams
*scam* “scam” anywhere, even inside other words
"scam" Only the whole word scam

Filter by tone

For comments that rules and banned words don’t catch. Set per channel:

Option What it does
Off (default) Leaves comments alone
Hide negative Hides rude or angry comments
Delete negative Deletes rude or angry comments. Can’t be undone. Not on TikTok
Hide all Hides every new comment, whatever it says
Delete all Deletes every new comment. Can’t be undone. Not on TikTok

Off is the default for a reason: a legitimate complaint answered in public builds more trust than a thread with no criticism at all. Complaints go to Needs attention so a person answers them.

Block author

In a conversation, Block author quietly hides that person’s new comments on the channel. They aren’t blocked on Facebook, so they aren’t notified and can still message your Page. Undo is one click. For a full ban, use Meta Business Suite.

Moderation rules in plain words (Pro and Ultra)

A rule is a short card you write the way you would explain it to a new hire, plus what Rypl should do with a match. Rypl reads each comment for meaning, so one rule covers every way of saying the same thing.

Examples:

Actions

Action What happens
Allow Stays visible. Filter by tone won’t touch it
Hide Hidden from everyone except the author and their friends
Delete Removed for everyone. Can’t be undone. Hides instead on TikTok
Flag for me Goes to Needs attention for you to decide
I’ll answer myself The AI stays silent; the comment goes to Needs attention for your reply

If several rules match, the strictest action wins: Delete, then Hide, Flag, Answer myself, Allow.
