Create an AI Agent

An agent in Rypl is the AI that answers your comments and messages. It holds your instructions, your tone and your knowledge base. You assign an agent to channels; one agent can serve several channels, and agencies usually create one agent per client.

If you described your business at sign-up, Rypl has already built your first agent. This page explains what to check.

1. Name

Name the agent after the brand or client it serves, for example “Acme Store”. Every reply in the inbox shows the agent that wrote it, with its own face.

2. Instructions

Instructions tell the agent how to answer: what you sell, how to talk, what to do when it doesn’t know. Up to 4,000 characters. Be specific:

See Brand voice and instructions.

3. Tone

Tone What it sounds like
Neutral Clear and professional: “It starts at $39. Want me to send the details?”
Seller Nudges toward buying: “Just $39, and it’s our most popular option. Want to grab a spot today?”
Positive Warm and upbeat: “Great question! It’s only $39. Happy to send you all the details 😊”
Direct Short and assertive: “$39. Details in DM.”

4. Knowledge base

The facts the agent answers from:

The knowledge base learns when you save. See Knowledge base.

5. Where it replies and how soon

6. Smarter replies

7. Reply rules (Pro and Ultra)

Decide what happens to specific kinds of comments: let the agent answer, send a ready reply, or skip. Questions, purchase signals and requests are always answered. See Reply rules.

8. Assign it to channels

In each channel’s AI replies settings, switch on Reply with AI and choose the agent. Language and emoji settings live on the channel: Reply language (Detect automatically replies in the language of each comment) and Emojis in replies.

Improve it over time

Suggest improvements on the agent screen reads the questions real customers asked on the agent’s channels, answered and unanswered, and proposes new Q&A and edits to the instructions. Where an answer needs something only you know, such as a price, it leaves a gap in [brackets] for you to fill in.
